World Health Day — look after yourself today for a better tomorrow
Marked on 7 April, World Health Day is an invitation to reflect on the importance of looking after our wellbeing on an ongoing and preventive basis. Rather than simply treating health issues, it is essential to anticipate and prevent them through regular assessments of our overall health.
Regular check-ups enable the early detection of conditions that often show no symptoms in their early stages, such as high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol. Undergoing routine tests is essential to ensure proper monitoring and to promote a more balanced and healthy lifestyle.
In this context, eye health deserves special attention. Although it is one of the senses we use most in our daily lives, it is often neglected until clear signs of discomfort or a decline in visual quality appear. However, vision can also be an important indicator of general health, as it is linked to a range of systemic conditions.
Regular eye tests are therefore essential — not only to ensure good visual acuity, but also to detect any potential changes at an early stage. In a world where the use of digital devices is becoming increasingly widespread, this is even more important, for both adults and children.
On this World Health Day, we would like to emphasise the importance of taking a holistic approach to looking after yourself. Small steps, such as regular check-ups and looking after your eyesight, make all the difference to your quality of life.
